Offering 4 Curriculums in:
The Ananda Institute of Living Yoga
has been established to help expand the awareness of yoga as a way of life for anyone, regardless of outward affiliation. Here at the Institute you will discover that yoga is not just a pose; it is a state of natural, intuitive poise that radiates outward from within. As the mighty oak grows from a tiny seed to give shelter to life around it, living yoga begins with meditation and inner awareness.
The Institute offers certification training for those who might wish to teach yoga, meditation, or children. Three newly developed prepaid (non-certified) study curriculums have been created: Raja Yoga: East meets West, for those committed to learning meditation and the universal precepts which underlie that great faith traditions of East and West; Living Yoga, for those wanting in-depth yoga practice and a wide choice of classes that might interest them; and lastly, Kriya Yoga, for those who are committed to kriya yoga as their spiritual path. The prepaid study curriculums are the equivalent to a weekly class for ten to thirteen months and each student has up to two years to complete their studies. All in all the Institute offers everyone an opportunity to study, practice, and experience yoga and meditation as a healthy, wholesome, creative, and transformative way of life and to meet others who share your ideals and interests. Enrollment in the Institute includes access to an Ananda staff teacher as a personal guide and mentor.
What is Yoga?

Yoga is more than a routine of beneficial stretches, though this is a good beginning. Yoga is more than sitting in silent meditation, though meditation is essential, for it reveals the heart of yoga, your own Self. Yoga is also the Oneness of meditation expanding outward into daily life. Yoga is an attitude and a discipline that seeks solutions, harmony, and creativity in the home, the workplace, in health, in business, in community and in national and international relations.
Why Yoga?
Today’s fast paced world is over-stimulated and inclines towards restlessness and confusion. Yoga helps us find our center in a world with no center, no common culture, language, religion, customs or shared values. Yoga brings inner security and confidence in a world where no outward security exists. Yoga brings us wealth (in the form of vitality, adaptability, and creativity) where no material wealth is safe. Yoga brings us contentment in a world that insists upon stimulating material desires. Yoga brings us friends of like-mind in a world where relationships are often merely convenient and temporary.
As the practice of yoga postures and meditation continue to grow in popularity, more and more people are realizing that there’s more to “yoga” than just keeping the body fit and managing stress!
